 Who is Amitabh Bachchan?



Amitabh Bachchan, born on 11 October 1942, is an Indian film actor, film producer, television host, occasional playback singer, and former politician. He is known as one of the greatest and most influential actors in the history of Indian cinema. During the 1970s–1980s, he was the most dominant actor in the Indian movie scene; the French director called him a "one-man industry". Early Film Career



Amitabh Bachchan made his film debut in 1969, as a voice narrator in the film Bhuvan Shome. His first acting role was as one of the seven protagonists in the film Saat Hindustani. Although the movie was a flop he managed to grab many directors' attention.




By the 1970s, he was one of the most popular stars amongst the audience. He got roles as a portrayal of "angry young man" in many films like Zanjeer, which was the movie that took him to his stardom. This was an action movie and was loved by the audience. Bachchan's performances in films like Laawaris, Coolie, Naseeb, Silsila, Sharabi, and Jaadugar continued to increase his fan base of the tall and handsome action hero, and also landed him multiple Fanfare Awards. From the 1970s through the early 1980s, the stud Bachchan appeared in more than 100 films. He seized opportunities to work with India's most acclaimed directors, such as Prakash Mehra, and dominated the silver screen with films like Trishul, Sholay, and Chashme Buddoor. In addition to acting, Bachchan's roles often required him to sing.
