There are search engines like google, bing, etc. that consider backlinks as organic growth promoters. More the links your web pages have, the more is the chance of your website coming up when the topic is searched. There are a few other ways than creating backlinks but those can be considered as spam by these search engines and it would not help your website to grow.

b. Discoverability



To understand backlinks you need to understand how search engines work. Search engines find new content by revisiting pages they already know about to check for new links. Because search engines revisit popular pages more often than unpopular ones, they may discover your content faster if you get backlinks from popular pages.

c. Referral traffic



Referral traffic is as easy as it sounds. Backlinks are clickable links. More clicks, more traffic.  Backlinks exist to point people to useful resources. That’s why they’re clickable. When someone clicks on a link to your website, you get referral traffic.

This is the most commonly asked question. Everyone wants to be in the competition. There are three ways to get more backlinks: CREATE, EARN, or BUILD.



a. Creating Backlinks

In this when you manually add links to your site from other websites. This even includes replying on threads with the website links or submitting your website links to the directories.



b. Earning Backlinks

Earned backlinks are organic. When the public discovers your content through search engines, or social media, or through references and increases your referral traffic those are called earned backlinks.

You can always take an audience poll and improve your chances of earning a backlink by creating content that people want to see. One important thing, always keep improving. 

c. Building Backlinks

This is when you contact other websites and ask them to link your website to their content. For this, you need to build personal connections and should have a clear plan that could impress the person in front of you. We have found a few link-building tactics:

  • Guest Blogging: You would be writing one post for another website. That is basically trading.
  • Broken link building: Find the dead links on other sites and then suggest the working links as a replacement, there are a few sites available that check the broken links.

  • The Skyscraper Technique: Find content with a lot of links, edit the content and then add your links to the original links.

  •  Unlinked mentions: Once your reach increases there will be unlinked mentions, Look for such mentions and ask the author to mention your clickable website link.
